Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the short letter last week we were rushed and I couldn't really think. I'll try harder today. So I'm training the first and only 18 year old in the mission, or was I guess he was 18 for a week and a half then it was his birthday. Still though, that's an exciting experience. His name is Elder Mudrow. Our first week together was a little hard because his expectations of the mission were so high. He came in thinking that we would be teaching and baptizing everyone, but missionary work is a lot harder than that, and our first week together nothing happened, so this was "my fault." We sat down and talked about how missionary work is hard and no one is perfect. So we then started to get along.

This last week we got 2 new investigators and we got a lot more done. That's still not enough though, our mission had 476 baptisms last year. Our goal as a mission is 1000 this year. So we have a lot of work to do. To achieve this, our mission president wants us to find 4 new investigators a week. So I'm currently learning how to move mountains. Hopefully I'll know by the end of the year.

We also have a baptism this weekend. Nicole is staying in our ward and her baptism is on the 26th, Saturday. We are really excited about that, and I know it's really helping the ward seeing all these baptisms. We are working really hard as missionaries and our ward mission leader to get the ward excited about doing missionary work. So the baptisms definitely help. We are working on getting the members to sign up for short versions of missionary lessons, and we would teach them like we would teach investigators, but the goals and commitments would be about missionary work. We just started that yesterday and two families signed up, so that's a start. We also want to do a 40 day fast were each day a different family in the ward fast for missionary experiences and you go for 40 days. That probably won't happen for a little bit, but we are working towards it. I hope all of you have a great week.

Love Elder Larman
