HILO!
I just forgot
everything I was going to say. Last week was pretty slow, but there was one day
where we stood on a street corner with a mormon.org/christmas and
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints signs. It was fun we got a lot
of honks. Someone took a picture of me. It was great.
Let me tell you that
all those times I winged lessons in seminary and talks were worth it. Yesterday
in church we had to give last minute talks.
Despite last week
being slow, last night made up for it. Katie, a recent convert of ours, to make
long story short, she was baptized in another ward but lives in ours, so we are
teaching her the new member lessons. Anyway, last week we asked her if she had
any friends who need the gospel, she said a firm "yes." "I'll
invite her to the next lesson." So last night we met her friend. Her name
is Stephanie. They are both 14 by the way. Stephanie thought it was a great
message. We asked her if she would like
to meet again and she said yes, absolutely. We asked when? She said,
anytime. She has no religious background, but she was just awesome and
she received the lesson very well.
I would like to share
a scripture with you found in Mosiah 2:21-22.
I say unto you that if
ye should serve Him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving
you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do
according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another-
I say if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be
unprofitable servants. And behold, all that He requires of you is to keep His
commandments; and He has promised you that if ye would keep His commandments ye
should prosper in the land; and He never doth vary from that which He hath
said; therefore, if ye do keep His commandments He doth bless you and prosper
you.
Even if we serve the
Lord with all our heart, mind, and strength we wouldn't even be close to paying
him back, but He loves us so much He doesn't require us to pay Him back He just
wants us to keep His commandments, BUT… we can't even love Him enough to keep His
commandments.
So love Him and do
your best to keep His commandments.
Elder Larman
