Hi, you are going to be so excited when you open your email today. My p-day is on Thursdays in the MTC and you don't get one your first week. I'm amazed at how many sisters there are here, and it's great because their spirits are so strong. There is so much to tell you, but I don't have enough time, but I'll try to fit as much in this email as possible. So, The MTC is crazy awesome all of you should be jealous. My companions name is Elder Conlin. He is pretty awesome. I'll talk more about him later. The MTC is like nothing you would expect though. You would think they would teach you a little bit first and have some practice, but no, they just throw you under the bus. First day here, they are just like, here’s an investigator go teach, and it's like um.... We did pretty well though. There is a program called TRC were we teach progressive investigators, less actives, and contacts. It is really good. Our first time with our progressive investigator, my companion had a nervous breakdown and like just shot into the lesson, finished it in like 7 minutes and asked the guy to be baptized. He just kind of laughed at us. I sat my companion down and I talked to him about how he doesn't need to be nervous. the spirit will help and guide us, as long as we do our part in planning and be obedient. We then said a prayer and the next time we saw the investigator, we nailed it. We had no idea what to teach him the second time, but as I was reading Our Search For Happiness, the spirit was like telling me, teach “The Atonement”. So we prepared got back in there and I know he felt the spirit and the Love that Christ has for him. I can't wait to teach him again and teach him more about Christ's love and how the gospel can bless his life. Our teachers play as investigators. One of our teachers plays an investigator named Casey. It was the second day of the MTC and my companion and I went in to teach him. We got out and later he told us it was probably the best first lesson he had ever seen. The spirit must have taught him amazingly well because we had no idea what we were doing. Whenever all the elders and sisters are in a big group like for devotional and are singing hymns, it is so powerful. We sing bring the world his truth a lot and they changed the lyrics at the end to "we are NOW the Lord's missionaries to bring the world his truth" and it is so powerful. Other lyrics "We are as the army of Helaman we have been taught in our youth." I chose that scripture on my plaque for a reason mom, you have done such a good job raising me. Ethan I told you listen to your older brother. Tell Marla Kucera and all the people who signed my card thanks. I'm running out of time though, so tell you more next Thursday.
Love,
Elder Larman
