Hi Everyone!
Canyon Country! So I'm
in the Santa Clarita Valley now. Doesn't that just sound like a bad
place to be on bike? I'm in the hardest bike area in the entire mission. These
hills go like straight up and go on for like a mile. The good news is that I'm
in a car. So what happened is a little weird, a missionary named Elder Chaney
in the Solemint ward was suppose to train but one of the missionaries in the
MTC ended up getting homesick so he is no longer training, so now there is an
odd number of missionaries. So they combined the mint canyon and solemint areas
where I'm serving, and I have two companions Elder Hawker, and Elder Chaney. So
I'm in a tripanionship. It's a little weird, but it's working out. Since the
areas are combined we have a car. Getting to know two wards and having 6
hours of church is kind of hard.
Last week was a little
unorganized, but good thing there was something invented called weekly planning,
so this week will go by smoother and we will be able to get a lot more done. As
District Leader I have to go on exchanges with the other Elders in my district
for training. The good news is since those two areas are now combined, there is
only one other companionship of Elder's in my district so it is easy. I went on
an exchange last Friday to Saturday. We did a lot of finding, and nobody really
wanted to listen (for the most part), but they gave us a lot of stuff. People
gave us cookies, water, gatorade, giant oranges, it was cool. Did my first
Distirct Leader training on setting goals and planning effective activities to
achieve those goals go well? I think it did. Being District leader gives you an
awesome opportunity to care about a lot more people. Everything is going well.
Follow the spirit.
Make good choices. Stand in holy places.
Love, Elder Larman
